Pal Sphere Tiers & Recipes

| Sphere | Unlock tech | Key materials | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pal Sphere | Tech 2 | Paldium Fragment ร3, Wood ร3, Stone ร3 | Early pals (rank 1) |
| Mega Sphere | Tech 12 | Paldium Fragment, Ingot, Wood | Mid-tier (rank 2-3) |
| Giga Sphere | Tech 24 | Ingot, Refined Ingot, Paldium | Late-game (rank 3-4) |
| Hyper Sphere | Tech 34 | Refined Ingot, Carbon Fiber | Endgame (rank 4) |
| Ultra Sphere | Tech 44 | Carbon Fiber, Circuit Board, High Quality Pal Oil | Legendary (rank 5) |
Higher tier spheres also resist the "shake-out" RNG โ a legendary caught with a Giga Sphere will escape far more often than with an Ultra.
The Weaken Mechanic
Low HP is everything
Capture chance scales dramatically with remaining HP. A pal at below 30% HP has a massively higher catch rate than one at 50%+ โ and status effects stack on top:
- Sleep / Poison / Burn: each active status effect boosts capture odds further.
- Backstrike: hitting a pal from behind (while undetected) gives a small bonus.
- Level gap: capturing a pal 5+ levels above you is nearly impossible โ level up first.
Rule of thumb: weaken โ apply a status effect โ throw the best sphere you can afford.
Capture Rate โ 5 Practical Tips
Boost your catch odds without spreadsheet math
- Always carry a status Pal (e.g. a fire pal for Burn, or Daedream for dark damage) โ statuses are worth more than raw damage.
- Bring 10+ spheres of your best tier; the first throw is rarely the lucky one.
- Feed pals first โ some pals have a "fed" state that lowers their catch resistance (try throwing food at the target).
- Use the Lifmunk Effigy upgrades at your base statue to permanently raise global catch power.
- Don't waste Ultra on trash โ reserve high-tier spheres for rank 4-5 pals and legendary bosses.
Rare, Night & Weather-Locked Pals
| Category | Example | How to find |
|---|---|---|
| Night-only | Daedream, Direhowl, Katress | Spawn only after 21:00 โ camp a known spawn and sleep to cycle the clock |
| Weather-locked | Storm/lightning pals | Some spawn only in specific weather events (check the in-game hint) |
| Lucky (shiny) | Lucky Lamball (shiny) | Rare golden glow; same stats but a cosmetic flex โ no fixed spawn point |
| Alpha (boss) | Alpha Anubis | Dungeon/tower bosses respawn after a day; guaranteed capture with the right sphere |
Tower Unlocks & Rewards
| Order | Tower | Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rayne Syndicate Tower | Ancient Tech Point ร1 | Easiest; teaches boss mechanics |
| 2 | Free Pal Alliance Tower | Ancient Tech Point ร1 | Grass-themed; bring fire |
| 3 | PIDF Tower | Ancient Tech Point ร1 | Electric boss; bring ground |
| 4 | Vaelet Alliance Tower | Ancient Tech Point ร1 | Neutral/ice; bring fire |
| 5 | Pal Genetic Research Unit Tower | Ancient Tech Point ร2 | Dark/dragon; hardest โ overlevel to 45+ |
๐ก Tower tip
Ancient Tech Points are the currency for ancient-tech schematics (sphere launchers, base teleporters). Do the towers in order โ the early ones are soloable at level 15-20 with a fire team.
