Palworld Breeding Combinations
Every fusion recipe, legendary self-breeding pair and the passive skill rules that decide what hatches.
How breeding works
Unlock the Breeding Farm at level 19, place one male and one female Pal inside, and keep Cake in the feed box - the pair produces an egg that you incubate. The offspring's species is decided by the breeding power formula for normal pairs, or by a fixed special combination for fusion Pals. Passive skills from both parents have a chance to pass down, which is how you build a four-passive "perfect" Pal.
Fusion combinations (fixed recipes)
These Pals can only be produced by their exact parent pair (or same-species self-breeding for some). All recipes below are verified from the 1.0 breeding table.

Legendary Pals (self-breed only)
Legendary Pals carry the Legend passive (+20% ATK / +20% DEF / +15% move speed) and cannot be produced by cross-breeding - catch the Alpha boss, then self-breed two of the same species for a custom passive build.
| Parent 1 | Parent 2 | Offspring |
|---|---|---|
| Jetragon | + Jetragon | Jetragon |
| Frostallion | + Frostallion | Frostallion |
| Paladius | + Paladius | Paladius |
| Necromus | + Necromus | Necromus |
Passive skill inheritance
Each parent has a chance to pass its passive skills to the child. To build a perfect Pal: start with parents carrying only the skills you want (no "bad" skills in the pool), breed them, then keep replacing one parent with the better offspring until all four slots are ideal. Don't release failed attempts - feed them to the Pal Condenser (level 14) to upgrade your main Pal instead.
FAQ
How do I start breeding in Palworld?
Breeding unlocks at level 19 with the Breeding Farm. Place one male and one female Pal inside and keep Cake in the feed box — Cake is crafted from ranch products plus cooking.
How do you breed legendary Pals like Jetragon?
Legendary Pals cannot be bred from regular combinations. Capture a wild Alpha boss, then pair two of the same species (Jetragon + Jetragon = Jetragon), or catch them directly in the wild.
Do offspring inherit their parents’ passives?
Yes. Offspring have a chance to inherit their parents’ passive skills (such as Legend, Swift and Musclehead). Select a pair with the desired passives and breed repeatedly for a four-passive Pal.
Why won’t my Pals breed?
The most common causes: no Cake in the feed box, two Pals of the same sex, or not enough space in the farm. Make sure the “Love is blossoming” message appears.
