Build Templates
Update 1.1 introduced targeted weapon, difficulty and progression changes. Read the official update before applying an older build recommendation; this was not a blanket reversal of all weapon nerfs.
| Role | Weapons | Perks | Relics | Job |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DPS | Daggers of Greed / Bow of Hope | Fool's Fate · Rejuvenated Vigor · Scourge of Omnipotence | Lover's Skull · Holy Book of Hymns · Muddy Apostle Medal | Maximize Co-strike & Co-op Power uptime; boss burst damage |
| Support | Staff of Sloth | Soaring Grace · Astute Erudite · Energy of Plethora | Bloodstained Stole · Muddy Apostle Medal · Lamp of Purifying Flames | Slow enemies, accelerate team Co-op bar, revive allies |
| Tank / Frontline | Sword of Justice | Guard-focused tree | Team-defense relics | Block AoE, hold aggro, Gavel Bash windows |
The Perk Economy
Every immortal has a perk tree upgraded through five ranks per run:
- Ranks I-III: bought with Dust — accessible in most runs; a full I-III tree is achievable by mid-Purgatorio if you coordinate Co-strike.
- Ranks IV-V: require Paragons — scarce by design, from high-tier Inferno encounters and realm-end boss loot. A typical run yields enough for one or two perks to rank V.
Identify your build's most impactful perk and commit your first Paragons there — don't spread them across defensive gaps. The rank IV passive on theme-core perks often unlocks interactions that don't exist at rank III.
Build for 11, Not 33
Player count narrows from 33 in Inferno to 11 in Paradiso. Plan your perk tree and relic choices for 11 players, not 33 — with a quarter of the lobby, your individual role matters far more. Support builds especially: fewer allies means your Co-op Powers cover a bigger share of the team.
Realm Context
No weapon is universally best — Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso reward different kits at different points. Read the realm differences on the Realms & Progression page before locking a main.
FAQ
How many perks should a build actually run?
Three that agree beat five that do not: the perk economy rewards stacking effects that share a trigger or a stat, and the 1.1 overhaul made cross-purpose picks actively dilutive. The templates on this page each name their core three first; treat everything after as flex slots decided by which relics the run has offered.
Realm context and when to pivot
A build is a bet on which realm you will be clearing when it comes online: early-realm builds bank consistent damage, Paradiso-facing builds take the scaling perks that need Feats to pay out. The pivot point is the Purgatorio boss — if the lobby clears it comfortably, hold the bet; if it wiped twice, spend the next cycle's shards converting to a template that pays earlier.
The perk economy after 1.1
Update 1.1 (August 17, 2026) overhauled the perk roster and reverted the earlier weapon nerfs, which means old tier lists are poison and the current economy is generative: perks compound within a build rather than across one, so the question is never which perk is best but which three perks agree with each other and with your weapon's loop. The templates below are agreement-first for exactly that reason.
