DPS Build Guide
- Weapons: Daggers of Greed (aggressive) or Bow of Hope (safe ranged)
- Relics: Path of Malice / Path of Vainglory
- Job: maximize Co-strike & Co-op Power uptime; burn the boss in damage windows
Co-op Role & Communication
As the DPS role in a 33-player run with no voice chat, communication is your second weapon. Use the emote wheel (Alt / LB) to call mechanics, request heals and celebrate buffs; use pings to mark elites, shrines and danger zones.
The Co-strike meter builds when the lobby attacks together — it fuels DPS-relevant relics, so position near allies during damage windows. Co-op Powers require allies nearby: don't pop them solo. In the Torture Chambers and God's Wrath phases, stick with your squad of 6, then the 3-team Ascension split.
Remember: runs succeed when all 33 survive to the boss. Play conservatively during Wrath phases and prioritize revives over personal DPS padding.
Recommended Perk Tree
| Perk | Why |
|---|---|
| Fool's Fate | Classic DPS trade-off perk — more damage output for the focus phase. |
| Rejuvenated Vigor | Keeps stamina up for dodge windows so the damage isn't wasted. |
| Scourge of Omnipotence | Damage amp that scales with your aggression — pairs with Daggers' Greed meter. |
Relic Selection
| Relic | Best For |
|---|---|
| Path of Malice | Crit burst on the burn target — the go-to DPS path. |
| Path of Vainglory | Missile pressure with Bow of Hope for safer boss uptime. |
| Lover's Skull / Holy Book of Hymns / Muddy Apostle Medal | Slot-filler relics that boost Co-op Power generation. |
Rotation
Daggers of Greed: build the Greed meter with basic attacks during boss windups, then dump it into a Takedown lunge on the damage window — the lunge scales damage and stun with Greed stacked. Mistiming the lunge costs you, so only commit in a clean window.
Bow of Hope: hold your recall for the boss's cast phase — the recall path stuns anything it passes through, creating a free damage window for the lobby.
Boss Notes
- Lucifer: volunteer as the burn squad; focus the marked target on the caller's cue.
- Adam & Eve: split DPS between the twins — Malice crits shine on the shield-break windows.
- Wrath of God: survival is the damage — keep Malice but swap to conservative play in the Wrath phase.
Stat Conversion & Perk Synergy
DPS builds in 1.0 run stat-conversion relics to compound: Burnt Cincture (Attack → Vitality), Seraphic Tear and Celestial Green Feather let you stack one characteristic and feed the others. Pair them with Fool's Fate / Fortitude / Soaring Grace for compounded returns.
| Slot | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Perk 1 | Fool's Fate | Damage trade-off that pays in focus phases. |
| Perk 2 | Rejuvenated Vigor | Stamina sustain for dodge windows. |
| Perk 3 | Scourge of Omnipotence | Scales with aggression — pairs with the Greed meter. |
| Relic | Lover's Skull / Holy Book of Hymns / Muddy Apostle Medal | Co-op Power generation + focus-fire payoff. |
Early progression favors universal value (perks that work in any lobby); endgame favors specialized synergy (conversion relics + weapon-specific perks). Build your early runs for survival first, then swap to specialization once your Mastery and Feats carry over.
