Subnautica 2 creatures: what official material confirms

This index was rebuilt on 30 September 2026. The previous version listed twelve creatures with threat levels, habitat zones and counter-play advice. None of that detail could be tied to a version-specific official source, so those entries were withdrawn. This page now records only what Unknown Worlds has actually published, and marks exactly what was retracted.

What official material establishes

Across the Early Access launch, the “Adaptive Measures” update (8 July 2026), the “Buddy System” update (19 August 2026) and the 1 September 2026 hotfix, the confirmed picture is deliberately small:

• The game ships five confirmed creatures, of which two are Leviathan-class.
• The Collector Leviathan is the creature shown in official video material and is the only one this site treats as a confirmed name; the 1 September hotfix records a pathing fix for it.
• Official updates do not publish creature statistics, damage or drop tables, and they do not publish a complete named roster with habitat lists.
• Balance work — aggression timing, aggro range, flare effectiveness, Survival Tool effectiveness, creature interaction with vehicles and bases — is described in patch-level terms without per-creature detail.

The following twelve entries were retracted on 30 September 2026. Each address now carries a correction notice without ads; the name on an entry is itself unverified, so the list below is a record of what was withdrawn, not an endorsement of the name.

Why this roster stays short

Community wikis for the game exist and are detailed, but they contradict each other on creature names, numbers and locations, and some of their entries trace back to data files rather than published material. Where sources disagree, this site will not pick a winner and present it as a guide. A short honest index is worth more than a long one we cannot stand behind.

What a restored entry would require

An entry can come back when it has a version-numbered source — an official announcement, a patch note, or a dated in-game capture — plus a reviewer who replays it on the current build. Until then the address stays as a correction notice without ads, and this index lists it as withdrawn.
