Subnautica 2 vehicles & tools: what official material confirms

This index was rebuilt on 30 September 2026. The previous version listed sixteen vehicles and tools with unlock routes, fragment counts and upgrade steps. The unlock detail could not be tied to a version-specific official source, so those entries were withdrawn. What follows is the confirmed list, plus a record of what was retracted and why.

What official material establishes

• Tadpole submersible — the first confirmed player vehicle. Official material describes it as compact and agile with modular attachments covering different roles; the 1 September 2026 hotfix records a Tadpole oxygen fix.
• Bioscanner — introduced with the “Adaptive Measures” update (8 July 2026); its scans unlock extra passive Biomod slots. Six Biomods are unlockable in the current build, up from four.
• Sonic Resonator — its stun deters creatures without killing them. A later update removed its use for harvesting Atacamite, which is the clearest example of why unlock advice needs a version date.
• Survival Multitool — described in update notes as able to deter creatures without killing them, with ongoing effectiveness tuning.
• Tracking Tags — added with the “Buddy System” update (19 August 2026).

Official material does not publish fragment requirements, unlock step sequences or upgrade tier lists, and no release of that detail was found for this review. Other vehicles are referenced only as roadmap material.

Withdrawn entries

The following sixteen entries were retracted on 30 September 2026. Each address now carries a correction notice without ads. For the four items with confirmed existence, the item is real but the withdrawn walkthrough was not; for the rest, the name itself is unverified.

Why the detail was pulled, not reworded

The withdrawn routes mixed plausible-sounding steps with fragment counts and place names that appear in no official source. Rewording would have left the same unverifiable core. For equipment, a wrong unlock step is not a style problem — it sends a player hunting for something that may not exist in that form. The honest version is a short confirmed list with a clear boundary.

What a restored guide would require

An entry can come back when it has a version-numbered source — an official announcement, a patch note, or a dated in-game capture — plus a reviewer who replays the unlock on the current build and records what actually happens. Until then the address stays as a correction notice without ads.
