🛠️Pal Team Builder & Type Coverage

How it works

Filter Pals by element or work skill on the left, click up to 5 Pals to build your team, then check the Type Coverage panel — it shows how your party matches up against selected Tower bosses included in this tool and the elemental weaknesses you should cover. Your selection is saved locally so it survives a refresh.

🧬Type Coverage vs Tower Bosses

💡 Coverage tips

Each Tower boss has a dominant element (see the Combat guide). Bringing the counter element deals more damage; a balanced 5-Pal party covers at least 3 bosses comfortably. Boss-rarity Pals (rank 4-5) are strong but harder to maintain — check the Breeding guide for how to farm them.

FAQ

How to use the builder, step by step

Pick the element filter to narrow the roster to Pals you can actually catch at your progression point, sort by the work skill you need covered at base, then click up to five Pals to lock a team. The Type Coverage panel updates live: green means your party's attacking elements land super-effective hits, amber means neutral, and red is where the Tower boss hits you harder than you hit back.

Reading type coverage honestly

Full green coverage is a luxury, not a requirement: what matters is that every Tower boss faces at least one party member that resists its element and one that hits it super-effectively. A team of five legendary Pals sharing one element is worse than a mixed roster of mid-tier catches — the whole point of the coverage panel is to catch shared weaknesses before a boss does.

Why a static page explains a live tool

The builder runs entirely in your browser: the roster data, the matchup math and the coverage panel are all client-side, so nothing here needs an account or a server round-trip. This page explains what the panel shows in plain words — build mixed elements, cover the ten types across your five slots, and re-check after every new catch — so the strategy is readable even before you touch the filters.

Passive skills and the limits of the math

The coverage math uses elements and work skills, which is the layer that decides boss fights; passive skills change damage numbers, not matchups, so a red cell stays red no matter how good that Pal's passives are. Treat the panel as the hiring filter and passives as the interview stage — the breeding guide covers how to farm the traits worth interviewing.

Work skills and the bench trade-off

The work-skill filter is on this builder for a reason: two of your five slots are usually earning their keep at base rather than in the tower queue, and a roster built from pure fighters starves the production lines the base-building page depends on. A balanced five covers the coverage panel and the crafting queue at the same time — that is the actual end-state this tool is for.

Re-checking after every catch

The roster is never finished: every new catch, every hatch and every update that adds species can flip a coverage cell from red to green for free. The habit worth building is a thirty-second panel check after each session — most improvements are a swap you already own, and the tool is cheap to consult compared to a tower attempt that discovers the gap for you.

Roster and version scope

This site's Paldeck and team builder cover a selection of Pals, not the entire game roster. Version 1.0.4 was published on 7 September 2026. Use Pocketpair’s Steam announcements and the in-game Paldeck for current changes and values.
