🎮What Is 33 Immortals?

Last updated:

Current build: Update 1.1 (August 17, 2026). The first major post-launch update added the Fate System (a voluntary prestige loop with ten Fate Levels that boost end-of-run Eternal Shard rewards), new daily events in the Call to Arms rotation, an overhauled perk roster, and a hold-to-attack control option that removes light-attack button mashing. If you last played at the June launch, the combat feel alone has changed enough to warrant a fresh run.

33 Immortals is a co-op action-roguelike for 33 players at once, from Thunder Lotus (Spiritfarer). You play a damned soul rebelling against God's final judgment. Each run drops you into Inferno with 32 other players: clear hordes, tackle side objectives and Chambers, then face a realm boss together. The player count narrows as you ascend — 33 in Inferno, fewer in Purgatorio, 11 in Paradiso.

The core loop

Enter run → clear question marks & objectives → open Chambers → fight the realm boss → spend Dust and Eternal Shards between runs to grow permanently. Dying is normal — no attempt is wasted.

⏱️Your First 10 Minutes

  1. Stick with the group. In the first ten minutes, question marks and safe objectives give structure — don't turn the early route into random solo wandering.
  2. Learn your weapon's loop. Each of the 8 weapons has a meter mechanic (Greed, Pride, Temperance, Justice...). Read the Weapons page and pick one whose loop clicks.
  3. Co-strike when you can. Activating Co-strike with a nearby player generates more Dust than solo — it's the run's build economy.
  4. Drop a marker on elites and shrines — the whole lobby benefits.
  5. Don't hoard Bones or Dust — spend them to upgrade what defines your run.

💎Currencies & What They Buy

CurrencyWhere fromWhat it buys
DustStandard encounters, boss encounters, Co-strike activationsPerk ranks I-III during a run; relic rarity upgrades
Eternal ShardsRuns, endgameWeapon unlocks (50 each), permanent account growth
ParagonsHigh-tier Inferno encounters, realm bossesPerk ranks IV-V — scarce, the build-ceiling limiter
BonesRuns / dismantlingRelic rerolls (Wishing) and rarity upgrades

🎧Can You Play Solo?

Yes — Matchmaking availability and waiting times depend on region and player population, and you can jump straight into runs alone or with friends. Solo simply means you queue into a shared 33-player lobby; the game handles the rest. Private lobbies exist for groups of friends.

⚠️Common First-Run Mistakes

  • Wandering alone early — the first ten minutes are safest and fastest with the group.
  • Ignoring Co-strike — you leave Dust and team progression on the table.
  • Picking relics your weapon can't trigger — read the trigger first (see Relics).
  • Hoarding Paragons — commit them to one high-impact perk, not a spread.
  • Not using emotes/markers — with no voice chat, they're your only coordination.

FAQ

Reading the currencies once, correctly

Four currencies, four jobs: Dust is the in-run bleed (spend it or lose it), Bones are the run's emergency fund and relic wishes, Eternal Shards are the permanent weapon economy, and Paragons feed the feats layer. The first-ten-minutes version: never leave a fight with full Dust, and never leave a realm without spending Bones on the build you are actually playing.

The first ten minutes, in order

Follow the marked path, grab the first weapon, hit the first shrine, and join the nearest squad rather than soloing the opening — the run's economy (Dust, Bones, marks) starts paying the moment you are near other players. The common first-run mistake is hoarding: every currency on this page is spendable mid-run, and unspent currency dies at the realm gate with the run.
